Totaal bezeten van muziek in het algemeen en hiphop in het bijzonder heeft Kyteman de afgelopen drie jaar onafgebroken aan zijn debuutalbum gewerkt, dat net verschenen is. Afgelopen oktober gaf hij met zijn orkest een voorproefje in Tivoli De Helling, en overdonderde het publiek met het uitzonderlijk hoge niveau van de composities en het samenspel. Kyteman is de inmiddels 22-jarige trompettist Colin Benders uit Utrecht. Al op zijn dertiende maakte hij deel uit van de hiphop-formatie 6 Of Your Best Friends, waar hij rapper Paradox ontmoette. Daarna ging het hard, en speelde hij onder andere met Voicst, Relax, C-Mon & Kypski, de Amsterdam Klezmer Band en Krezip. Volgens www.3voor12.nl was Kyteman dé sensatie van Noorderslag: ‘... Kyteman’s hiphoporkest weet alle verwachtingen volledig in te lossen. [...] In drie kwartier dirigeert hij [bandleider Benders] het gezelschap langs opzwepende funk (waarbij de strijkers net zo hard meebouncen als de rappers), donkere soul (met zowaar een croonende Pax) en een fenomenaal stukje vocal soundsystem waarbij het hele podium beatboxt, zingt en andere stemkunsten uithaalt.’

Totally obsessed with music in general and hiphop in particular Kyteman has been working without interruption on his only recently released debut album for the past three years. Last October he and his orchestra gave us a taste in Tivoli De Helling, where he overwhelmed the audience with the extremely high quality of the compositions and the ensemble. Kyteman and the by now 22-year-old trumpet player Colin Benders from Utrecht are one and the same. Already at the age of thirteen he was a member of the hiphop formation 6 Of Your Best Friends, where he met rapper Paradox. After that things moved fast, he played among others with Voicst, Relax, C-Mon & Kypski, the Amsterdam Klezmer Band and Krezip. According to www.3voor12.nl Kyteman was the big sensation of the Noorderslag festival: “... Kyteman’s hiphop orchestra manages to live up completely to all expectations. [...] Within 45 minutes he [Benders] leads his ensemble past inflaming funk (with string musicians bouncing along as intensely as the rappers), dark soul (with an actually crooning Pax) and a phenomenal piece of vocal sound system with the complete group beatboxing, singing and demonstrating other vocal tours de force.”
